It's easy to extract sounds and music from the source games. It's all saved as .mp3 files. They can be browsed and extracted using the free program GCFscape.

Then it will ask for a username which can be found in the first (i think it was the first) rats den in the game. (the rats den is a pushed out section of the wall that seems to be kept open by a couple of weighted cubes, even though it doesn't close once the cubes are removed :p) So the username is (if you can't be arsed fiding it in the game)

Next you will be faced with a tiny snippet of story in the form of an e-mail or IM. Seems that it has been written by someone who works for aperture science, also is a live camera feed of the "relaxation vault" (where you start off in the game).

You can also type "help" (or "lib") after logging in, and it'll give you a list of things... most of them just give you an error message about the disc being write protected, but "play" and "interrogate" get you something different. (Although I don't know if there are valid parameters you can use with them.)
Oh... "play portal" takes you to a YouTube video that's been taken down by the user.
Ha, and typing "help" before you log in gets you a cute message.
